The Finch Programmable Mobile Robot Platform is the result of a four year study at Carnegie Mellon's CREATE lab. It is made to easily integrate into high school and college CS courses. Institutions piloting the Finch have shown improved retention and year-over-year enrollment growth in their CS1 courses and it is designed to allow students to write richly interactive programs. The Finch has currently support for over a dozen programming languages and environments including Java, Python, C++, Visual Basic, Scala, and Processing. Additional language support will be released. It also features accelerometers, motors and buzzer.
