The 100g Micro Load Cell is a force sensing module - a carefully designed metal structure, with small elements called strain gauges mounted in precise locations on the structure.
These loads cells are extremely cheap and very effective. After calibration, I have been able to get the accuracy down to 10-50 mN from the expected value

Reliable and inexpensive
These little inexpensive loadcells are great for measuring small forces. Our lab uses them to measure paw pressure from mice pressing levers. Just be careful not to apply too much force, they deform pretty easily.
