Description

  • Acoustic Levitator Kit
  • Includes an L298N Dual Motor Drive Board
  • Uses acoustic waves
  • Lets liquids float in the air
  • Enables you to study container-less substances

The Acoustic Levitator Kit has the potential to enable novel studies due to its ability to hold a wide variety of substances against gravity under container-less conditions.

It has found application in spectroscopy, chemistry, and the study of organisms in microgravity. Current levitators are constructed using Langevin horns that need to be manufactured to high tolerance with carefully matched resonant frequencies. This resonance condition is hard to maintain as their temperature changes due to transduction heating.

It uses acoustic waves to hold in mid-air samples such as water, ants or tiny electric components. This technology has been previously restricted to a couple of research labs but now you can make it at your home.

In addition, Langevin horns are required to operate at high voltages (>100 V) which may cause problems in challenging experimental environments.

Costume dress jewellery for a paediatric doctor character

The kit is missing a glue gun, wire, a stripping gadget to measure and create intermittant connection spaces, and assembly instructions recomending which type of wire to use. With result, the copper wire I used was too thick. This means I must purchase another levitator, a glue gun and glue, a range of copper wires of different diametre, and two pairs of helping hands. One pair to hold the levitator and one pair to hold a magnifying glass. This will leave both of my hands free to hold the solder and the soldering iron.
The assembly video contains several additional technical steps that are not needed. Because there is no assembly sheet, the video must be followed.
The quality of the product components seems exceptionally high. This is why I shall purchase another one as soon as I am able to afford one.

Great acoustic levitator

It works quite well for levitating small plastic, droplets or even ants. Remember to recheck the polarity of the transducers.
