The AndyMark 4in. Performance Wheel w/ 0.5in. Hex Bore is a robust and durable wheel crafted from solid 6061 aluminum, renowned for its resilience in competitive robotics. This wheel has been a staple in the FIRST Robotics Competition, demonstrating its reliability and strength. The current version is designed to be cost-effective, utilizing a custom extrusion process rather than being fully machined from billet. It features a 1/8 inch thick boss on the rear side to minimize friction in bearing outer races, thereby reducing the component count in drivetrains.
This wheel is compatible with a 1/2 inch hex shaft and supports other motion hardware that employs a 1.875 inch 6-hole bolt circle, common in AndyMark and other competitive robotics products. The wheel does not come with tread material, allowing users to customize its performance according to specific needs. For mounting, a 250 Sprocket and Pulley Spacer is recommended for the rear side, while a 550 Sprocket Spacer is suggested for the front.
Note: The wheel is designed for tread attachment using rivets, with AndyMark recommending steel rivets of 1/8 inch diameter and a grip range of 0.251 to 0.312 inches. The rim is manufactured without pre-drilled holes, providing a customizable surface for teams to install rivets as needed.
