The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 - 45.33:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 - 32.74:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
This model features several enhancements over previous iterations, including a robust 1/8" diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO® 18 Bronze, which offers improved strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly has been reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage utilizes 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users have the flexibility to select their preferred high and low ratios, with the option to swap between them as needed. Additional encoder options are available, enhancing the gearbox's adaptability.
The EVO Shifter employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for shifting. This allows for gear changes even during acceleration or deceleration. The gearbox is designed for easy integration with existing mounting systems, such as the AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame. Aggressive weight reduction features have been incorporated into the design, ensuring a lightweight yet durable product.
The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal performance and longevity. It is recommended to run the gearbox for a short period without grease to allow the gear teeth to wear in before applying grease. This ensures smooth operation over time. The encoder ratio for the two-stage version is 3:1 between the Output Shaft and Encoder Shaft, facilitating precise programming and control.
