The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Keyed Shaft, StageA 2 Stage - 10.86:1 Ratio, StageB 2 Stage - 16.37:1 Ratio represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates a refined 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
Several enhancements distinguish this model from its predecessors. The dog gear now features four dogs on each face, enhancing the strength and durability of the gear. The use of AMPCO® 18 Bronze for the dog gear material provides added lubricity, ensuring smooth shifting operations. A robust shift block assembly with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing is included, contributing to the gearbox's overall resilience. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction.
The EVO Shifter allows users to independently select high and low ratios, providing greater customization options. It supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder. The gearbox features aggressive weight reduction through machined gears and plates, and its design allows for easy disassembly and reassembly without concern for gear orientation. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes.
The shifting mechanism is powered by a pneumatic cylinder, enabling shifts during acceleration, pushing, or deceleration. The cylinder extends into the selected "Ratio A" when no air pressure is supplied, ensuring continued operation in the event of air pressure loss. The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal performance and longevity, with a recommended break-in period before applying grease. The encoder ratio for programming is 3:1 between the Output Shaft and Encoder Shaft for the two-stage version.
