The AndyMark EVO Slim 6.00:1 Ratio, ~2in Shaft Length is a high-performance, lightweight gearbox designed for competition robots. It is part of the EVO Slim series, which is known for its robust construction and compatibility with multiple motors. This gearbox is crafted with all-steel gears and aluminum plates, ensuring durability and efficiency in demanding environments. It is delivered in kit form, allowing for customization and assembly according to specific needs.
The gearbox is engineered to accommodate up to three motors, although motors are not included in the package. It features a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear, which is integral to its operation. The pinion gear installation requires precision, especially when using a NEO motor, which necessitates a 3-ton arbor press due to the interference fit. For CIM motors, the pinion may either slip or require pressing, with the application of red Loctite 271 to secure it in place.
The EVO Slim gearbox is compatible with various encoder options, including the E4T Optical Encoder Kit and the SRX Mag Encoder. These encoders require a 3D printed mount plate for installation. Future iterations will include pre-drilled holes in the motor plates to facilitate the mounting of encoders, enhancing the gearbox's adaptability and functionality.
