The AndyMark EVO Slim 6.00:1 Ratio, ~3.875in Shaft Length is a high-performance, lightweight gearbox designed to enhance the drive trains of competition robots. This single-speed gearbox is part of the EVO Slim line, which shares several components with the EVO Shifter, including weight-relieving features and robust construction with all-steel gears and aluminum plates. It is provided in kit form, allowing for customization and assembly to accommodate up to three motors, although motors are not included in the package.
The gearbox utilizes a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear, which is included. For those using a NEO motor, a 3-ton arbor press is necessary to install the pinion due to its interference fit. The installation process has been rigorously tested to ensure safety and reliability. When using a CIM motor, the pinion may either slip or press fit, depending on manufacturing tolerances. In both cases, the application of red Loctite 271 is recommended to secure the pinion.
The EVO Slim for CIM is compatible with either the E4T Optical Encoder Kit or the SRX Mag Encoder, requiring a 3D printed mount plate for installation. Future versions will include pre-drilled holes in the motor plates to accommodate the Encoder Mount Pad. When using the SRX Mag Encoder, additional mounting hardware is necessary to ensure proper installation and functionality.
