The Tinkerkit Braccio Robot is a fully assembled robotic arm kit developed by Arduino, designed to be controlled through any compatible Arduino board. Built around a 6-axis structure, the arm covers a broad range of motion across rotation, extension, and wrist articulation, making it capable of picking up and repositioning objects in a defined workspace. Each joint is driven by servo motors with metal gears and dual-bearing support, providing reliable torque and precise positional control. The kit is well-suited for desktop robotics applications, educational projects, and entry-level automation prototyping.
As an open-source robotics platform, the Braccio is designed to integrate directly with the Arduino ecosystem through its included servo shield, allowing users to program motion sequences using the Arduino IDE without additional hardware. The arm can be configured to accept peripheral attachments such as cameras or solar panels at its end effector, broadening its range of practical and experimental applications. Its modular construction and compatibility with standard Arduino libraries make it accessible for students, educators, and hobbyist developers looking to explore servo-based robotics. Whether deployed in a classroom, a maker lab, or a personal workbench, the Braccio provides a structured entry point into physical computing and robotic arm control.

The Braccio arm went together very cleanly and fast with no surprises. I has afraid that its size would make it unstable but it is very solid and stable. The coding provided made getting the arm to things very easy and fast with limited lines of code, a bonus. It is also very accurate for its size, in one routine it returned the ball to the exact location every time +-2mm. Thanks

This Arm Rocks
I was concerned with jitteryness and ease of use and strength. But I was impressed at the cost/quality ratio. It's a solid little arm that has the libraries built in and works great. The only things I dislike are: 1) If you feed the script anything other than a perfect value in the Bracio's range... (lets say you fed it a negative angle or "140a" instead of "140") Then the arm "dances" and will bump itself into things and wreak havoc on your work area or those poor servos. 2) Calibration is an entirely manual process. I couldn't figure out how to open the library to "calibrate" the arm by moving the range from "0 - 180" to "-5 to 175" for example. The only recourse seemed to be to limit your motion from 0-175 and lose 5 degrees. (or try your hand and manually straightening the arm out which is a pain). Still even with these quirks, the arm is a 5/5 given how little effort it takes to get up and going.

Awesome
The arm goes together easily, and is easy to program. I'm currently trying to get it working with some ROS packages that I found on GitHub.

Excellent
The robot arm has excellent build quality. The size is also quite big, which is great.
