Because it is designed for versatility, the Braccio can also support various objects on the end of the arm.

For example, you can use Braccio:

  • With your camera to follow a subject,
  • By mounting your telephone or your tablet to follow you when you’re at a video conference,
  • With a solar panel to follow the sun.

The Arduino Braccio Robotic Arm is sold as a kit and requires assembly before use. After assembly, you can adjust the alignment of all the motors by running the sketch called “testBraccio90” in the Braccio examples. The sketch will position the Braccio in the upright position shown below. If it isn’t in this position, you will need to realign the servos.

Love this robot

The Braccio arm went together very cleanly and fast with no surprises. I has afraid that its size would make it unstable but it is very solid and stable. The coding provided made getting the arm to things very easy and fast with limited lines of code, a bonus. It is also very accurate for its size, in one routine it returned the ball to the exact location every time +-2mm. Thanks

This Arm Rocks

I was concerned with jitteryness and ease of use and strength. But I was impressed at the cost/quality ratio. It's a solid little arm that has the libraries built in and works great. The only things I dislike are: 1) If you feed the script anything other than a perfect value in the Bracio's range... (lets say you fed it a negative angle or "140a" instead of "140") Then the arm "dances" and will bump itself into things and wreak havoc on your work area or those poor servos. 2) Calibration is an entirely manual process. I couldn't figure out how to open the library to "calibrate" the arm by moving the range from "0 - 180" to "-5 to 175" for example. The only recourse seemed to be to limit your motion from 0-175 and lose 5 degrees. (or try your hand and manually straightening the arm out which is a pain). Still even with these quirks, the arm is a 5/5 given how little effort it takes to get up and going.

Awesome

The arm goes together easily, and is easy to program. I'm currently trying to get it working with some ROS packages that I found on GitHub.

Excellent

The robot arm has excellent build quality. The size is also quite big, which is great.
