The Arduino RFID Door Lock Shield allows your Arduino to control a door lock using an electric strike plate and one of a number of commonly-available RFID modules, and is based on the circuit described in the "RFID Access Control System" project in the book "Practical Arduino".

Manual strike release connection
Status LED connection
RFID reader connection
LEDs:
Power LED: Indicates that 5V is present on the Arduino
12V in LED: Shows that an external power source is connected
12V out LED: Shows that the door strike output is activated
