The BlueRobotics Cable Repair Kit contains essential materials for temporarily repairing damaged cables, tethers, and other connections. It includes moldable cable sealing compound, silicone tape, and acetone wipes, all housed in a convenient hardshell case. The Coax-Seal, a hand-moldable, non-toxic, and non-conductive plastic, adheres to most surfaces and forms a watertight barrier when used in repairs. The UV-resistant silicone tape fuses only to itself, providing additional protection to the Coax-Seal. Acetone wipes are included to clean and prepare the cable surface for optimal adhesion.
This kit allows for field repairs, ensuring that activities such as diving can continue without interruption due to damaged cables. However, it is important to note that this is not a permanent solution, and damaged cables should be replaced as soon as possible. The effectiveness of the repair in maintaining waterproof integrity depends on the quality of the application.
