The DFRobot 5V IR Photoelectric Switch (4m) is an infrared break-beam sensor designed for motion detection. It operates by emitting a beam of IR light, invisible to the human eye, from one side, while a receiver on the other side is sensitive to this light. When an object, not transparent to IR, interrupts this beam, the receiver outputs a signal, indicating that the beam has been broken.
This sensor is capable of functioning up to a distance of 4 m and provides a swift and stable response within 0.5 ms. Its compact size allows for convenient installation in confined spaces. The sensor is designed to operate within a temperature range of -10 to 60 °C and is powered by a DC 5V voltage.

This device can be utilized in conjunction with Arduino in smart robot competitions for tasks such as simple motion detection, speed detection, and timing. The product is characterized by its 4 m detection range, compact size, and rapid response time.
The sensor's transmitter and receiver are differentiated by their respective green and black PCBs. The transmitter is equipped with a red wire for 5V, a black wire for GND, and a green wire that is floating. Similarly, the receiver has a red wire for 5V, a black wire for GND, and a blue wire for output.
