The DFRobot DFRduino Ethernet Shield (Mega & Micro SD Support) enables seamless internet connectivity for Arduino boards using an RJ45 cable. This shield is designed to be easily attached to the Arduino board, allowing users to upload Ethernet sample codes to facilitate stable communication for IoT projects. It is built around the WizNet WS5100S Ethernet chip, which integrates comprehensive hardwired TCP/IP protocol stacks and supports four independent hardware sockets. Communication between the Arduino board, the WS5100S chip, and an SD card is achieved through the SPI interface using the ICSP pin.
This expansion board is compatible with both Arduino UNO and Mega series, offering versatility in project applications. The current hardware version, V3.0, features an upgraded chip from W5100 to W5100S, which provides enhanced performance with reduced power consumption and heat generation. The shield is equipped with internal memory buffers for efficient TCP/IP packet processing and supports auto-negotiation, ensuring reliable and efficient data transmission.
Note: Ensure proper handling to avoid damage from static electricity.
