Description
Arduino compatible microcontroller designed for robotics applications
Integrated 2 way DC motor driver and wireless socket
DC supply: USB powered or external 7V~12V DC
RoHS compliant
The DFRobot Romeo All-in-one Microcontroller (ATMega 328) is an all-in-One Arduino compatible microcontroller especially designed for robotics applications. The Romeo benefits from the Arduino open source platform, it is supported by thousands of open source codes, and can easily be expanded with Arduino Shields. The integrated 2 way DC motor driver and wireless socket allows you to start your project immediately without the need for an additional motor driver or wireless shield. The Romeo v1.1 behaves like standard Arduino Uno which means you can program it directly from the Arduino IDE. This new version has changed the position ICSP pins to make the Romeo compatible with the USB host shield and the Ethernet shield. That means now the Romeo could work perfectly with most Arduino shields. The Romeo v1.1 features the Atmega8U2 programmed as a USB-to-serial converter. All the pins of the new Romeo use colored pin headers. Commonly use: Green for digital I/O, Blue for analog I/O, Red for voltage
Features
Auto sensing/switching power input
ICSP header for direct program download
Serial interface TTL level
Compatible with the arduino uno pin mapping
Supports male and female pin header
Integrated sockets for APC220 RF module and DF-Bluetooth module
This product works exactly as I expected it to. I have little to no programing background and programming the device was easy. The built in DC motor controller made it is simple to get my project up and running.

Item was promptly shipped, arrived undamaged, and required soldering to build which I had on hand. Also necessary to purchase hot glue gun and glue sticks to assemble per web page instructions. Very nice robot! Use it with a Polaroid Cube+ Camera.

Awesome
This is a great board made by DFrobot. It is really nice that it is open source, so whatever your preference is it should work, not sure though I haven't tried other code so I can't vouch for that. Because this board is so similar to the Arduino Uno I use their program to write my code. The only drawback to this board is that it is not as popular as its counterpart so information and help are a bit limited. But any resourceful and patient individual should have no problem. I am amazed at how much is crammed onto this board which makes it very versatile. This board in my opinion really earns the title of all-in-one because of everything it has. I plan on purchasing more boards in the future because of it's versatility and recommend it to anyone else looking for a good all-in-one board.
