This Gravity Analog 20A Current Sensor is based on the Hall current sensing principle. hooked it up to an arduino, found a routine on al gores interweb and used that chunk of code to give me a more accurate reading. compared it to DC clip on ammeter and it works fine for our purpose - sensing when the motor reaches 6 amps.
