The K Type Thermocouple is a thermocouple (Temperature sensor) which is very popular for 3D printers such as Ultimaker and Makerbot. You can hardly damage them or mishandle them.
This thermocouple is recommended and easily adapts to Arduino! Its readings are quite accurate too. For anyone planning to buy this, I'd recommend also buying a Max31855 breakout for simplicity.
