The ATOMIC H-Bridge Driver Base (DRV8876) is a sophisticated motor driver designed to complement ATOM series controllers. It is equipped with the DRV8876 motor driver chip and is capable of supporting a DC power supply input ranging from 9 to 24 volts. This motor driver is adept at providing real-time monitoring of the power input through a voltage divider circuit connected to the ADC pin G33.
This device is capable of delivering an output current of up to 1.5A, with the ability to reach a peak current of 2A. Such current capabilities allow for precise speed control and bidirectional rotation of DC motors. The internal architecture of the driver includes an N-channel H-bridge, a charge pump voltage regulator, current sensing and regulation, current proportional output, and a suite of protection circuits. These protection circuits safeguard the device against a variety of fault conditions, such as Undervoltage lockout, charge pump undervoltage, output overcurrent, and device overtemperature, with fault indications provided through the FAULT pin.
The motor driver boasts an array of features, including a high output current capability and a 3.3V logical input. It also employs a spread spectrum clock to minimize electromagnetic interference and comes with an integrated protection function to ensure the longevity and reliability of the motor driver.
