The Marvelmind Boxie 2 Advanced is an autonomous mobile robot designed for smart warehousing, industrial applications, research, and educational purposes. This versatile robot is equipped with open interfaces, allowing seamless connectivity with external devices such as scanners, readers, arms, and baskets. It is capable of carrying loads up to 10 kg and offers a running time ranging from 10 to 48 hours, depending on the battery configuration.
The robot facilitates fully autonomous delivery from one point to another indoors, which can be initiated with a single button click or remotely via the Marvelmind Dashboard or a custom graphical user interface through an open API. Safety is ensured through automatic LIDAR-based obstacle detection and avoidance, utilizing 12 one-dimensional LIDAR sensors. Remote control and monitoring are possible through the Marvelmind Dashboard or a custom GUI, providing comprehensive oversight of the robot's operations.
The Marvelmind Boxie 2 Advanced boasts a long battery life, with the default internal battery supporting up to 10 hours of operation, and an extended battery bay offering up to 48 hours. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to be fully charged in two hours using the default fast charger. The robot's own weight is approximately 5 kg, and it includes additional internal power converters to support user equipment.
Advanced sensor fusion technology is employed for precise localization, navigation, and autonomous driving. The robot is equipped with a variety of sensors, including Marvelmind Indoor GPS, a 6D IMU, odometers for each wheel, and an up-facing camera for stargazing-based navigation. The processing unit is powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W running Raspbian OS, with a MicroSD card for easy updates.
The chassis is constructed from rigid 1mm steel, featuring a two-wheel drive system with front and back caster wheels. The robot supports various external interfaces, including a 6-port USB hub, HDMI, and wireless connectivity options such as Marvelmind radio, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Optical sensors, including an up-facing camera, are integrated for autonomous driving based on stargazing.
