The Motoron M3H550 Triple Motor Controller Kit for Raspberry Pi is a sophisticated device designed to facilitate the effortless control of DC motors via a Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer) through an I²C interface. This kit is capable of independently managing up to three motors. For projects requiring control of additional motors, multiple Motoron boards can be conveniently stacked atop the same Raspberry Pi. The M3H550 is compatible with motor supply voltages ranging from 1.8 V to 22 V and can deliver continuous output currents of up to 1.7 A per motor. This particular model comes with a range of header pin and terminal block options, which are included but not pre-soldered.

The Motoron M3H550 add-on board simplifies the process of controlling up to three bidirectional, brushed DC motors with a compatible Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer). It is designed to be stacked on top of a Raspberry Pi (Model B+ or newer), akin to a HAT (Hardware Attached on Top). Multiple Motoron controllers can be stacked together, enabling the independent control of a large number of motors. Unlike many motor drivers and motor driver expansion boards for Raspberry Pi, the Motoron does not necessitate any PWM outputs on the Raspberry Pi. Instead, the Raspberry Pi communicates with the Motoron via I²C, requiring only two GPIO pins, regardless of the number of Motorons connected.

This version of the Motoron is a kit that comes with a variety of connectors, including two 1x10 stackable female headers (or one 2x10 header), four 2-pin 3.5 mm terminal blocks, four 2-pin 5 mm screw terminal blocks, and one 1x25 breakaway male header. These can be cut or broken into smaller header strips for installation as desired.

The kit also includes a set of two M2.5 standoffs (11 mm length), screws, and nuts for securing the board at the appropriate height for the GPIO connector. This Motoron kit provides more connectors than can be soldered to the board, offering different assembly options to accommodate a range of applications. Additional connector options can be obtained separately, and wires can also be soldered directly to the board for more compact installations.
