The Pololu 37Dx70L 50:1 Metal Gearmotor w/ 64 CPR Quadrature Encoder is a robust 12V brushed DC motor equipped with a 50:1 metal gearbox and an integrated quadrature encoder. This encoder provides a resolution of 64 counts per revolution of the motor shaft, translating to 3200 counts per revolution of the gearbox's output shaft. The gearbox primarily consists of spur gears, with helical gears incorporated in the first stage to minimize noise and enhance efficiency.
This gearmotor features a 16 mm-long, 6 mm-diameter D-shaped output shaft. It is the largest and most powerful model available in its range, with options for different gear ratios and voltages. The motor utilizes a two-channel Hall effect encoder to detect the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft, offering precise control over speed and direction.
The motor's faceplate includes six mounting holes designed for M3 screws, arranged in a hexagonal pattern. This design facilitates secure attachment using compatible brackets and hubs. The gearmotor's output shaft is compatible with various mounting hubs and adapters, allowing for versatile applications with different wheels and mechanisms.
The encoder requires an input voltage between 3.5 and 20 V and outputs square waves that indicate motor speed and direction. This gearmotor is compatible with a range of motor drivers and controllers, making it suitable for diverse projects requiring high power and precision.
