The Pololu 5V, 9A Step-Down Voltage Regulator D24V90F5 is a synchronous switching regulator designed to efficiently convert input voltages of up to 38 V to a stable 5 V output. It is capable of delivering an output current of approximately 9 A, making it suitable for high-power applications such as powering motors or servos. The regulator maintains high efficiency, typically ranging from 80% to 95%, even at light loads by dynamically adjusting the switching frequency. An optional shutdown pin allows the device to enter a low-power state, reducing current draw significantly.
This regulator features built-in protections, including reverse-voltage protection, short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and under-voltage lockout, ensuring reliable operation under various conditions. The output voltage can be adjusted by adding an external resistor, providing flexibility for different applications. A 'power good' indicator is included to monitor the main power status, alerting users when the output voltage falls below the set threshold.
