The ServoCity Servo Power Distribution Board (8 Channel) is a robust device that offers eight channels for power delivery to servos. It is designed to distribute power between electronics that generate Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signals and the components that receive them.
The Servo Power Distribution Board is optimized for power distribution and isolation. All positive contacts on the board are interconnected, as are all negative contacts. This design allows the board to power logic devices and servos using the same battery. Additionally, the board provides the option to isolate electrical connections by removing or excluding positive wires from the connections between the board and logic controllers.
The board is equipped with XT30 input and output connectors, which facilitate the daisy-chaining of boards to share power. The Servo Power Distribution Board can handle a nominal voltage range of 3-24 V, delivered into its XT30 or header pins by a battery or wall-mounted power source.
The Servo Power Distribution Board also features through-holes on a 32 mm Square Pattern, providing extensive compatibility with other components in the goBILDA® system. It can be fastened to a build using M4 screws through two open through-holes, or through all four through-holes when replacing the case-securing screws with longer hardware.
The board's Signal Sharing feature allows for the control of multiple servos with a single signal. For instance, sliding Switch 1 to the "On" position connects the signal pins on channels 1 and 2, both left and right. This feature eliminates the need for obtrusive y-harnesses, simplifying the electrical setup.
Please note that the Servo Power Distribution Board is not designed to work with the FIRST Tech Challenge Control system. Additionally, it is crucial to remember that the voltage used to power the Servo Power Distribution Board will be passed on to the servos. Therefore, it is advised not to use a voltage higher than what the servos are rated for, as this could result in damage to the servos.
