The Shark-4 Servo Gearbox (18 rpm, 1888 Oz-in Torque, Continuous Rotation) is powered by Hitec's advanced HSR-M9382TH brushless, titanium geared servo. This gearbox features a 4:1 external gear ratio, enhancing torque and precision while reducing range. The servo is securely mounted within the gearbox, isolating the load to a steel hub shaft supported by ball bearings, thereby safeguarding the servo from axial loads. The gearbox is designed for versatile mounting options and is compatible with the goBILDA system through M4 threaded holes on a grid pattern.
The hub on the gearbox top offers threaded holes for fastening, and the aluminium output gear can also be directly fastened using M4 hardware. The 8mm REX bore of the hub shaft can accommodate an 8mm REX shaft or serve as a wire pass-through. This servo gearbox operates similarly to a standard servo but on a larger scale, maintaining identical control signals. It can connect to an R/C receiver, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or REV controller, and remains FTC legal as it is unmodified. Available in both feedback and continuous modes, the gearbox allows for position control in feedback mode and speed and direction control in continuous mode. Mode switching is possible with a DPC-11 servo programmer.
