The Sherline 12-Inch Deluxe Tabletop Mill with DRO (Inch) (EU) is a precision milling machine designed for both professional and hobbyist applications. It features a digital readout system that enhances accuracy and ease of use, making it ideal for creating small, precise parts. The mill is equipped with a digital readout box and special handwheels with built-in electronic encoders, which replace standard handwheels. These handwheels are connected to the readout box, translating movement into a display of table travel across three axes. Users can reset the readout for any axis to zero with a simple button press, and the spindle RPM is constantly displayed when the motor is running. This system is adaptable to both inch and metric measurements, providing versatility in various machining tasks.

The tabletop mill is compact yet capable of producing high-quality precision parts, suitable for cutting materials such as wood, plastic, aluminum, and steel. Despite its desktop size, it offers the precision and accuracy of a full-size machine. The digital readout displays the position of each axis relative to a user-defined zero point, with inch versions showing position to three and a half decimal places or within .0005 inches, and metric versions to within .01 mm. The system also allows for electronic elimination of backlash by setting its measured value into the readout box for each axis, enhancing the accuracy of directional changes.
