The Sherline 17-Inch Benchtop Lathe Package A CNC Ready (Metric) (EU) is an exemplary tool for those seeking a compact yet highly precise CNC lathe for crafting small components. However, it is important to note that the lathe is not operational until these motors are installed, as it does not include the stepper motors, computer, or CNC software.
The lathe is equipped with a robust 90V DC motor and an electronic speed controller, ensuring smooth and variable speed operation. It features a 24-inch steel bed with a 17-inch distance between centers, providing ample space for various machining tasks. The crosslide measures 2.75 inches by 6.0 inches, and the lathe includes resettable, zero adjustable handwheels for precise manual control, although these require the installation of dual-shaft stepper motors for functionality.
Included in the A Package are essential components such as a 3.1-inch 3-jaw self-centering chuck and a 3/8-inch tailstock drill chuck with key, along with Morse arbors and a drawbolt.
