While handwheels are included for each axis, they can only be utilized once the stepper motors are installed. Sherline provides high-quality stepper motors and CNC options, and there are also several aftermarket suppliers available for motors, drivers, and software to complete the CNC system.
The standard equipment for this CNC-ready lathe includes a robust 90V DC motor with an electronic speed controller, a crosslide, a steel bed allowing for a distance of 8 inches between centers, and laser-engraved aluminum handwheels. Additional components such as pulleys, a drive belt, a faceplate, a lathe dog, dead centers, hexagonal keys, a tool post, a sharpened high-speed steel cutting tool, and a power cord are also provided, along with an instruction manual.
Note: CNC-ready machines cannot be operated manually unless double-shaft stepper motors are installed.
