The Sherline Aluminum Pie Jaws is a specialized tool designed to enhance the precision and efficiency of machining tasks. Originally inspired by the needs of watch and clock makers, these pie-shaped jaws provide a comprehensive gripping solution by encompassing the entire diameter of a part. This design minimizes the clamping pressure required, thereby reducing the risk of deforming delicate components such as gears. Furthermore, the consistent depth at which parts are held facilitates uniformity in turning or milling operations, significantly reducing setup time.
Crafted from aluminum, these pie jaws offer a softer alternative to steel, making them ideal for applications where surface integrity is paramount. The aluminum construction not only simplifies machining but also ensures that softer parts remain free from scratches or dents. These jaws are specifically designed for use with the 1076C nickel/teflon coated chuck, leveraging the hardness and lubricating properties of the coating for optimal performance.
Note: These jaws are designed to be used ONLY on the Nickel-Teflon coated chuck P/N 1076C, and master jaws are custom fitted to each body, so master jaws are not available for purchase separately.
