The Sherline CNC-Ready Single-Axis Manual Machine Slide 18" (Metric) is a precision-engineered tool designed for meticulous machining tasks. Constructed from durable 6061-T6 aluminum, it features a sleek black anodized finish that enhances both its aesthetic appeal and resistance to wear. This model is equipped with a metric leadscrew, ensuring precise adjustments with handwheels graduated in 0.01 mm increments. The leadscrews are crafted from precision-rolled steel, offering adjustable backlash to maintain accuracy over time.

The dovetailed tables and saddles are fitted with adjustable gibs, eliminating play and ensuring smooth operation. This slide is CNC-ready, meaning it requires the installation of stepper motors, specifically compatible with NEMA 23 mounts, for automated functionality. The slide offers versatile mounting options, with provisions for secure attachment from either the bottom or the top, using the provided angle clamps.

The machine slide supports a weight capacity of approximately 10 lbs, contingent on the weight's distribution along the 18-inch table. It is designed to withstand a duty cycle of 2080 hours under heavy use, although regular lubrication with light oil is recommended to prolong the lifespan of the dovetail and screw components. The backlash nut, made from brass, is adjustable to compensate for wear, ensuring continued precision.

Note: Do not use WD-40 as a lubricant on these slides, as it will remove the anodized coating.
