This model is an enhancement of the Model 5000-series, featuring zero adjustable handwheels that replace the standard non-resettable ones. These handwheels allow users to reset to a zero reading at any time, facilitating easier dimension adjustments and reducing the likelihood of mathematical errors. This feature, typically found on larger, more expensive machines, is now available in this compact and economical model.
The mill is constructed with a robust 10-inch aluminum base and precision-machined dovetailed slides with adjustable gibs, ensuring stability and accuracy. It is equipped with permanently lubricated spindle bearings and adjustable preload anti-backlash feed screws on the X- and Y-axes, which contribute to its high precision capabilities. The machine is suitable for producing small, precision parts and is capable of cutting materials such as wood, plastic, aluminum, and steel.
This tabletop mill is powered by a 90V DC motor with an electronic speed controller, providing a wide range of spindle speeds. The machine's table is equipped with two T-slots, enhancing its versatility for various milling tasks. Additional features include oil reservoirs on the X/Y and Z axes for lubrication, and a brass leadscrew cover to protect against debris.
