This model is an enhancement of the Model 5000-series mill, featuring zero adjustable handwheels that replace the standard non-resettable handwheels. This upgrade allows users to reset the handwheel to a zero reading at any time without moving the leadscrew, facilitating easier dimension dialing and reducing mathematical errors. Such a feature is typically found on larger, more expensive machines, yet it is available in this compact and economical model.

The mill is constructed with a robust 10-inch aluminum base and precision-machined dovetailed slides with adjustable gibs. It includes permanently lubricated spindle bearings and adjustable preload anti-backlash feed screws on the X- and Y-axes, ensuring high-quality precision machining.
