The Sherline Manual 8-Inch Tabletop Lathe Package A (Metric) (EU) is a compact and versatile machine designed for precision work on small parts. It is particularly suitable for clockmakers, modelers, and those engaged in crafting intricate components. This lathe can accommodate parts up to 3.5 inches in diameter over the bed and 1.88 inches over the carriage, with the option to increase the capacity to 6 inches in diameter using riser blocks. The lathe provides 8 inches of space between centers, allowing for a variety of applications.
Equipped with an electronic speed control, the lathe offers a continuously variable speed range from 70 to 2800 RPM, eliminating the need for belt changes. A secondary pulley position is available to provide additional torque at lower RPMs, enhancing its versatility. Despite its compact size, this lathe is capable of producing high-quality precision parts from materials such as wood, plastic, aluminum, and steel. Its desktop size makes it ideal for environments where space is limited, and it can be conveniently stored on a closet shelf.
