The Sherline Manual 8-Inch Tabletop Lathe with Zero Adjustable Handwheels Package C (Inch) (EU) is an advanced version of the standard Model 4000-series lathe, featuring zero adjustable handwheels on the crosslide and leadscrew. These handwheels allow users to reset to a zero reading at any time, facilitating precise adjustments and minimizing calculation errors. This feature, typically found on larger, more expensive machines, enhances the precision of this compact lathe.
This tabletop lathe is capable of turning parts up to 3.5 inches in diameter over the bed and 1.88 inches over the carriage without riser blocks. With an optional riser block, it can handle parts up to 6 inches in diameter. The lathe provides 8 inches of space between centers, making it suitable for crafting small, precision components. Its electronic speed control offers a variable speed range from 70 to 2,800 RPM, allowing for seamless adjustments without the need for belt changes. An additional pulley position is available for increased torque at lower RPMs.
