The Teensy 4.0 USB Microcontroller Development Board is the latest Teensy, offering the fastest microcontroller and powerful peripherals in the Teensy 1.4 by 0.7 inch form factor. Teensy 4.0 provides support for dynamic clock scaling.

Unlike traditional microcontrollers, where changing the clock speed causes wrong baud rates and other issues, Teensy 4.0 hardware and Teensyduino's software support for Arduino timing functions are designed to allow dynamically speed changes.

Teensy 4.0 also provides a power shut off feature. By connecting a pushbutton to the On/Off pin, the 3.3V power supply can be completely disabled by holding the button for 5 seconds, and turned back on by a brief button press. If a coin cell is connected to VBAT, Teensy 4.0's RTC also continues to keep track of date & time while the power is off.

Great performance in a small package!!

I am building a self balancing robot and, but wasn't able to achieve the cycle times I wanted with the Arduino Nano. The software of the robot that I was trying to emulate was running on a Rasp Pi, but I didn't want that added complexity, so I tried the Teensy 4.0. Running at 600mhz I immediately noticed a vast improvement in the stability performance of my robot. The only thing to watch for is the Teensy 4.0 is not 5volt tolerant so you may have to use logic level convertors. Also, there is plenty on documentation on https://www.pjrc.com/teensy

Amazingly Fast and Reliable boards

I ordered this Teensy 4.0 board from RobotShop after ordering another one directly from PJRC. They're all working amazingly fast and reliable. But it's good to have free shipping and faster delivery if order from Robotshop.
