The Waveshare RM500Q-GL 5G HAT for Raspberry Pi, Quad Antenna LTE-A, Multi Band, 5G/4G/3G (UK) is a versatile module designed to enhance connectivity for Raspberry Pi and other compatible devices. It supports a wide range of network protocols, including 5G, 4G, and 3G, and is compatible with various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Android. This module features a USB 3.1 port, which is also compatible with USB 2.0, allowing for high-speed 5G communication when connected to a PC, Raspberry Pi, or Jetson Nano host board.
The device includes a standard M.2 B KEY slot, making it compatible with different 5G modules, including the RM500Q-GL series. It is equipped with onboard UART, PWR, and RST control pins, and a built-in voltage level translator, which can be enabled via a DIP switch for use with hosts like Raspberry Pi or Arduino. Additionally, it has an onboard USB-C connector for a standalone power supply, providing a stable and flexible power source.
The module is designed with a power supply on/off switch, a reset button, and an LED indicator to easily manage the module's operation and monitor its status. It features dual SIM card slots with dual card single standby capability, switchable via AT command, and a high-efficiency power supply circuit capable of delivering up to 3A output current. The device supports both 5G NSA and SA networking, as well as 4G and 3G internet connectivity.
For enhanced functionality, the module supports multi-constellation high-precision GNSS, including GPS, Beidou, Glonass, and Galileo. It is compatible with the standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO header and features a stackable design for additional HATs. A high-speed cooling fan is included to ensure efficient heat dissipation for both the Raspberry Pi and the 5G module.
