The Waveshare RM500Q-GL 5G HAT for Raspberry Pi, Quad Antenna LTE-A, Multi Band, 5G/4G/3G (UK) is a sophisticated module designed to enhance Raspberry Pi capabilities with advanced networking options. It supports 5G, 4G, and 3G connectivity, integrating a wide range of network protocols and offering compatibility with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Android. This module is equipped with a USB 3.1 port, which is also compatible with USB 2.0, facilitating high-speed 5G communication. Additionally, it features a standard M.2 B KEY slot, allowing compatibility with various 5G modules.
The HAT is engineered with onboard UART, PWR, and RST control pins, a built-in voltage level translator, and a USB-C connector for standalone power supply. It includes a power supply on/off switch, a reset button, and an LED indicator for straightforward monitoring. The dual SIM card slots support single standby mode, switchable via AT command, and the module boasts a high-efficiency power supply circuit capable of delivering up to 3A output current.
Designed for global use, excluding the US, the RM500Q-GL 5G HAT operates efficiently within a temperature range of -30 °C to +70 °C. It supports a variety of frequency bands, including 5G NR NSA, 5G NR SA, LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, and UMTS WCDMA. The module also incorporates multi-constellation high-precision GNSS, supporting GPS, Beidou, Glonass, and Galileo systems.
This HAT is user-friendly, supporting multiple systems and can be connected to a PC or Jetson Nano via a USB cable, or to Raspberry Pi models using a dedicated USB adapter. It includes a standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO header and a high-speed cooling fan to ensure optimal heat dissipation. The module offers versatile installation methods, making it suitable for applications such as transforming a Raspberry Pi into a 5G wireless router or enabling 5G live streaming.
