The Waveshare RM500x / RM502x 5G HAT for Raspberry Pi, Quad Antennas LTE-A, Multi Band, 5G/4G/3G is a versatile module designed to enhance connectivity for Raspberry Pi and other compatible devices. It supports a wide range of network protocols and is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Android. This HAT integrates a USB 3.1 port, which is also compatible with USB 2.0, allowing for high-speed 5G communication when connected to a PC, Raspberry Pi, or Jetson Nano host board.
The module features a standard M.2 B KEY slot, making it compatible with various 5G modules such as the RM500U-CNV, RM500Q-GL, RM500Q-AE, and RM502Q-AE series. It includes onboard UART, power, and reset control pins, which are enabled via a DIP switch, facilitating use with hosts like Raspberry Pi or Arduino. Additionally, the HAT is equipped with a USB-C connector for a standalone power supply, ensuring a stable and flexible power source.
The device is designed with dual SIM card slots, allowing for dual card single standby, which can be switched via AT command. It supports 5G NSA and SA networking, as well as 4G and 3G internet connectivity. The module is equipped with a high-efficiency power supply circuit capable of delivering up to 3A output current. A high-speed cooling fan is included to ensure effective heat dissipation for both the Raspberry Pi and the 5G module.
The HAT also supports multi-constellation high-precision GNSS, including GPS, Beidou, Glonass, and Galileo, enhancing its utility for applications requiring precise location tracking. The standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO header allows for compatibility with Raspberry Pi series and Jetson Nano, and its stackable design accommodates additional HATs.
Note: Ensure proper handling and installation to avoid damage to the module and connected devices.
