The Waveshare RM502Q-AE 5G HAT for Raspberry Pi, Quad Antennas LTE-A, Multi Band, 5G/4G/3G (UK) is a versatile module designed to enhance the connectivity capabilities of Raspberry Pi and similar host boards. It integrates a wide range of network protocols and supports multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Android, ensuring broad compatibility and ease of use. The module features a USB 3.1 port, which is also compatible with USB 2.0, allowing for high-speed 5G communication when connected to a PC, Raspberry Pi, or Jetson Nano host board.
Equipped with a standard M.2 B KEY slot, the HAT is compatible with various 5G modules, including the RM500U-CNV, RM500Q-GL, RM500Q-AE, and RM502Q-AE series. It includes onboard UART, PWR, and RST control pins, along with a built-in voltage level translator, which can be enabled via a DIP switch for seamless integration with hosts like Raspberry Pi or Arduino. The module also features an onboard USB-C connector for a standalone power supply, providing a stable and flexible power source.
The HAT is designed with dual SIM card slots, allowing for dual card single standby, which can be switched via AT command. It supports 5G, 4G, and 3G networking, including 5G NSA and SA configurations, and offers multi-constellation high-precision GNSS support for GPS, Beidou, Glonass, and Galileo. The standard Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO header ensures compatibility with Raspberry Pi series and Jetson Nano, and its stackable design allows for the addition of more HATs.
