The Waveshare USB to RS232/485 Serial Converter, FT232RNL is a versatile communication tool that facilitates the connection between USB and RS232 or RS485 interfaces. It is equipped with the original FT232RNL chip, ensuring fast, stable, and reliable communication with enhanced compatibility. The device features an onboard TVS to effectively suppress surge and transient spike voltages, providing lightning and electrostatic protection. Additionally, it includes self-recovery fuse and protection diodes for stable current and voltage outputs, as well as over-current and over-voltage protection to improve shock resistance.
This serial converter is designed with an onboard RS232/485 communication switching circuit, which can be configured via a switch, and a 120R terminal resistor on the RS485 interface that can be enabled or disabled as needed. It also includes three LEDs to indicate power and transceiver status. The compact and portable design, complete with an ABS protection case, makes this converter easy to use and cost-effective.
The converter supports a wide range of operating systems, including Mac, Linux, Android, and various versions of Windows, making it a flexible solution for various applications. It is designed to work with multiple devices and is suitable for a variety of communication needs.
