The Dragino NMDS200 NB-IoT Microwave Radar Distance Detection Sensor is a sophisticated device that utilizes 24 Ghz Microwave technology to accurately measure the distance between the sensor and various objects. This technology is particularly effective in environments prone to condensation or dust, as it can accurately gauge distance even in the presence of water or thick dust on the sensor.
This sensor is versatile and can be utilized in a variety of scenarios including horizontal distance measurement, parking management systems, object proximity and presence detection, intelligent trash can management systems, robot obstacle avoidance, automatic control, and sewer management. It is capable of measuring two distances simultaneously: the distance to the nearest object and the distance to the next object behind it.
The device is equipped with an alarm feature that allows it to uplink data at short intervals when the distance is outside the configured range. It supports a variety of uplink methods including TCP, MQTT, UDP, and CoAP to cater to different application requirements.
The device is powered by an 8500 mAh Li-SOCI2 battery, designed for long-term use of up to five years. To operate the device, it is necessary to ensure NB-IoT coverage in the area and compatibility with the NB-IoT bands that the device supports. If supported by the local operator, a NB-IoT SIM card from the operator is required to be installed into the device to establish an NB-IoT network connection.
The device boasts a range of features including NB-IoT Bands: B1/B3/B8/B5/B20/B28 @H-FDD, ultra-low power consumption, microwave radar for distance detection, a measurement range of 0.5 to 20 m, accuracy of ±10 cm, horizontal angle of 78°, vertical angle of 23°, short uplink interval for distance alarm, battery level monitoring, AT commands to change parameters, uplink on periodically, downlink to change configuration, and a micro SIM card slot for NB-IoT SIM. It is designed for outdoor use and can be mounted on a wall.
